Interview with Timothée Collinet
'You get treated like an object; Breaking my bones..'
You get treated like an object; Breaking my bones. Meet Timothee Collinet—a model, dancer, and athlete breaking stereotypes in the industry. Hailing from Munich with French-German roots, Timothee entered modelling less than a year ago. Beyond the runway, he describes himself as reliable, focused, forgetful, positive, and helpful. Timothee shares the harsh reality of modelling, highlighting the challenges and the unique experiences it offers. His favourite upside? The ability to travel extensively. Unveiling a surprising past struggle, Timothee opens up about lacking confidence in his looks. Now fluent in studying Chinese, he's on a journey of self-improvement.
Tell us a bit about your background and where you grew up.
I am half French half German and I have been growing up in Munich.
Choose five words to describe yourself.
Reliable, focused, forgetful, positive, and helpful.
Tell us about your experience as a model.
Modelling is different than most people think. It's a really hard job, you get treated like an object. Every little aspect of you can result in you not getting the job. On the other hand, it's very interesting since you experience a lot of new things. My favourite upside of it is that you can travel a lot.
What is the strangest thing you have eaten?
Not sure about that I would say alligator meat.
Are you a bathroom singer?
Sometimes haha!
Tell us something that would surprise people about you.
A few years ago I used to have little confidence in my looks.
Tell us which language would you like to learn, if any.
I would like to speak Chinese fluently. I am already studying it, but I am not very good yet.
Tell us what irritates you the most.
People who are only nice, when they benefit from it.
What is your biggest & weirdest fear?
Breaking my bones.
What was the last lie you told?
I have no idea, I barely lie, because I do not see the point in doing it.
What body part would you not mind losing?
Not a single one Haha!
What's the best thing that's happened to you this week?
I got a good grade in physics. I suck at it!
Who is the most inspirational person to you?
Elon Musk
If you had magical powers name something that you'd change.
I wouldn't change anything. Since I am a Buddhist, I believe that everything in the world needs to be in balance. Good and bad things can't exist without each other.
Which period would you visit in history?
To a time when humans didn't exist so I can see how the world used to look like.
Follow The Journey!
